Be warned the 'Must Read' article this week is shocking. An honest horrific account of what happened to Geoff Thompson when he was just 11 years old. An attack that was perpetrated by a man that was not only trusted by his family and the local community to boot but a person that was a hero to the 11 year old lad.
Rather surprisingly this week’s ‘Must Read’ article is entitled ‘Everything that happens to me is Fantastic’. How does that work? This week’s ‘Must Listen’ podcast asks this question and as the subject matter is so serious you’ll be amazed to find out how much silliness and laughter there is. That's why we've called it Ying and Yang. I know Richard Barnes started this chat with Geoff Thompson with much trepidation, I mean how do you fancy asking a long time friend about the darkest moment of his life and record it for the world to hear.
But within the Must Listen podcast you’ll find questions posed to Dr Love, the three best Little Johnny and Knock Knock jokes in the world ever and surprise guest appearances. It all in this week’s dose of seriously moving, seriously silly, a serious dose of Info-Tainment.

This weeks 'Must Listen' podcasts was blighted with technical issues, microphones failing, buttons not pressing and an awfull, let me write that again in capitals, AWFULL gag from said Bafta winning writer as poor Richard Barnes tried to remedy the problems. Not only up for discussion was this weeks 'Must Read' Article the '4 Second Rule', there was the pressing issue of who to blame for the circumstances that blighted the recording process, who could have done this with the 'power of their mind'. You know what they say, (whoever 'they' are), "The best laid plans of mice and men, dot dot dot." So he we are, ready to record this week’s Must Listen podcast called They tell you - you can't - and this week's Must Read article ready to be mused over. Friday People is its title.
Despite these best laid plans, the format that we try to follow didn't quite happen because Geoff is scared of being called 'Geoffrey' by his Mum. You know the way that only a mum can do when she doesn't approve. She calls you by your full name. And in a public place too. There's no place to hide and you’re banged to rights.
So Friday People, although was supposed to be discussed, wasn't. What was though is top draw. It illustrates how the littlest things said by 'they', can change the path of a person’s life. Bang. Confidence shatered. Or a life's passion found.

Sometimes it’s to say hello, a message to be sent, a request for the call me a b*tch feature in the podcast. Sometimes it's something more substantive.
Whatever the reason this week an email came in with a story of true adversity we wanted to share and reminds me of Rudyard Kipling’s words.
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same…
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
Roger’s story is talked about in this week’s podcast and Geoff’s must read article ‘Flapping’ gives a lucid plan to overcome the adversity that can surround your everday life.

As the nonstop publicity campaign for CLUBBED takes a breather Geoff gets to enjoy a quiet birthday. So quiet in fact that his partner in crime on the podcast forgets to get him a card let alone a present. A flash of inspiration follows the guilt of forgetting and in good faith said partner of the podcast arranges delivery of a present the following day.
Is it met with woops of surprise and delight? Kind of. There’s an angle in there for the award winning writer to take advantage of for his own ill gotten gains and pleasure. Oh yes, here’s something to milk. All is revealed in this week’s podcast along with the answer to a great question sent in by a listener to newsletter@geoffthompson.com.

Date added: 21/01/2009

What a couple of weeks! Clubbed – Geoff Thompson’s first feature film is out at the pictures, it’s had its premiere in the UK and got rave reviews at the Paris premier, Paris France as opposed to Paris Texas that is.
Loads of TV interviews, miles of column inches and even spots on the radio. A publicity whirlwind and a half.
There’s been fabulous feedback from audiences and some of those ‘critics’ loved it too. However some of those critics have been critical. How to deal with those critics is one of the questions asked in this week’s podcast, which followed succinctly into this week’s dissection of the ‘must read’ article, Gospel, plus the outing of a hideous swindle.
Yes – the pick and mix at the cinemas just costs too much. Rise up and lets here those dissenting voices. These are just some of the important issues addressed in this week’s dose of frivolity and inspiration.

For Geoff Thompson, this week is a turning point, a beginning and an end. On Friday 16th January 2009 the story that started as pencilled notes written in a factory toilet on a notepad are metamorphisized to the silver screen for all to see.
CLUBBED is out at the pictures.
The journey to get to this junction has been long and arduous, no overnight success. And he’s done it. In this week’s must read article ‘Embodiment’ Geoff states categorically and unequivocally, SO CAN YOU!
In the podcast recorded the night before the national release you hear Geoff tell Richard how it feels to belooking over the precipice at the beginning and end of this journey.
And if that’s not enough he has the cheek to pinch the punch line of the best joke Richard has told all year. It’s another great dose of ‘Serious Info-Tainment’ so to coin a phrase form a dodgy 80’s choon – Tune on, tune in and what was the last bit again...

In this week’s podcast, it’s the Christmas special including a light sprinkling of Christmas bells and some very special guest appearances by some of the podcast legends. Title: Celine Dion is not live...
Date added: 07/11/2008
Running time: 57:19m
Content:
This week’s podcast is an epic. So much to talk about, so many great emails to answer and some fantastic pearls of wisdom mixed into the verbal podcast pot.
But first a dedication.
Geoff and Richard want to dedicate this edition to the brother of Ian Scott who died recently after suffering from motor neuron disease. Ian said of his brother, “He didn’t wallow in self pity, and never complained about anything. He was a true inspiration in the face of overwhelming odds.”
One question that gets asked is how to deal with snipers, those that try and knock you back, pick fault and eye with green envy, success that is hard won.
At last we’ve had a request for the new feature ‘Call me a Bitch’ and for that Geoff (for some reason) is truly excited. There’s an impassioned representation for the Canadian nation and an explanation why Celine Dion now lives in America. You may think that Celine actually appears live in the studio but no, it’s just Richard exemplary impersonation of the planetary singing super star. There’s much much more in there along with Geoff’s new article ‘Half way up My life’.
Turn on, tune in and settle into this week’s dose of ‘Serious Info-tainment’.

Title: Halloween and the Alton Towers Travesty
Date added: 31/10/2008
Running time: 52:56m
Content:
The Halloween podcast contains extensive research giving insight into this unique festival that has been celebrated for years, decades and centuries. Unfortunately the research that is visited in this week’s podcast is made up on the spot. But hey, isn’t that the way these podcasts with Geoff Thompson talking to Richard Barnes mostly go.
Well mostly because you can always find a solid dose of inspiration and entertainment when the weeks ‘Must Read’ article comes under the spotlight.
This week is no exception.
‘Participating Anthropic Principle’ is the title of this weeks and it’s a little gem. It contains 5 simple lessons, lessons learnt and passed on with a large red rubber stamp proclaiming, ‘endorsed’. Endorsed by experience and affirmed by testing.
There’s some great news to share with all and the podcast also includes another edition of the totally failing feature of ‘Call me a Bitch’ which some reason hasn’t inspired anyone to request a shout out. There is the sad, sad story of an elderly lady who after recommending the podcast a prayer group at her church has been banned from going to Alton Towers. It’s a travesty and in just. Find out the who’s where’s and why’s in this weeks serious dose of ‘Info-Tainment’ only on the Geoff Thompson.com podcast.
P.S. – Do you think we should start a petition to let the nice old lady go to Alton Towers. Your thoughts and emails are always welcomed at newsletter@geoffthompson.com

In this episode - there’s an explanation for those who have recently joined the podcast of the characters that are so loved and ridiculed by the not so dynamic duo of Richard Barnes and Geoff Thompson. There’s some gossip, a pinch of frivolity and a bit of inspiration chucked in to boot.
Luck is something that you need to be successful? Right? That’s the question posed by one of the correspondents to newsletter@geoffthompson.com. So Richard asks Geoff is it, why are some people lucky and others aren’t. It follows on from last week’s’Must Read Article’- In the room - available on the www.geoffthompson.com.
And then there’s this weeks ‘Must Read’ article as well. In times where we hear nothing but bad news, economic downturn and the credit crunch surely there’s no good news to be had anywhere.
Well there is!
There a four step plan in the article and you can find out how to put it into action by listening to this week’s dose of ‘Serious Info-tainment.’

It’s two for one week on the podcast’s. In the last edition, as is the usual way of things we were supposed to chat about the ‘must read’ article of the week. After addressing a couple of questions sent in to us at newsletter@geoffthompson.com we ran out of time. So thats why it is two for one week.
‘In the room’ is a cracking article by Geoff Thompson and follows on from ‘Kissing Lepers’ nicely. Not to be confused with kissing nicely if you see my point. Mix in with that a debate about who is the bolder or balder, names for dog trainers and the new feature in the making, ‘Call me a bitch’, well it just goes up to making this week’s eclectic mix of serious info-tainainment. Title: Grudge & making the impossible possible
Date added: 01/10/2008
Running time: 39:41m
Content:
The idea of the podcast, usually, is to spotlight this week’s ‘must read’ article which incidentally is called ‘Kissing Lepers’. Strange title let alone instruction and without a doubt would make a great point for discussion and dissection. I mean, how does kissing a leper have anything to do with you today? Where cold you find a leper to kiss? Tough questions for debate.
So that’s how this week’s podcast started, get to grips with the article after the usual meanderings of two grown men talking cobblers about whippets, vending machines and the Brits abroad. There’s even chat about leap frogging. A much maligned past time.
As the conversation progressed a question was poised about ‘grudge’ sent in by a listener. It always great to get feedback and questions. Well that took care of the allotted time so we didn’t get round to being up close and personal with the leper issue if indeed one could be found.
What’s in this week is talk about the upcoming all star residential course, some recommended reading and tremendous advice on making the impossible possible. It can be done whatever it is! Go on, turn on tune and listen to this week’s essential piece of serious info-tainment!

It is great to get emails and questions. These two things provided much of the back drop for this week’s podcast. Even better when one emails contains a picture of a friend of the show and a hugely respected martial artist with a ‘lap dog’. We thought he had a whippet.
At the recent master class, questions were asked about being happy, how it affects your health and how to keep going with those good intentions. It’s not an easy answer but the dynamic duo tackles the issues head on in their own inimitable style. Well as head on as a roundabout way gets.
This week’s must read article ‘Reservoirs of Pain’ comes under the spotlight and some tough questions for Geoff to answer are thrown into the mix.
Watch out as well for the best clairvoyant joke in the world ever all in this week’s mish mash of verbose indulgent daftness, it is, ‘Serious Info-Tainment’ delivered for free, direct into your mail box. Enjoy!

Date added: 29/08/2008
Running time: 51:05m
Content:
After a couple of weeks away Geoff Thompson returns, empty handed.
No presents from the relaxing break for poor old Richard Barnes. Not even a stick of rock or a post card. Geoff apparently did think about it and as everyone knows, it’s the thought that counts. Some conciliation... perhaps not.
The dynamic duo hit the ground seated in conversation and discuss the merits of a tanned and fit lady who claims to be the number one female fan. There are email’s from around the world that need addressing, gossip, film talk and questions to answer. There’s an apology, a shocking admission and words of sympathy to a friend of the show. It brings a tear to the eye just thinking about it.
All this and this weeks must read article go to make up a big spooned dose of serious info-tainment. Enjoy!

Title: Recorded live - Buccaneering Rabbits.. and another nun joke
Date added: 07/08/2008
Running time: 38:15m
Content:
This week’s podcast is different from any that has gone before. Believe it or not, it was recorded in front of a real live studio audience.. of one. Well it’s a small studio!
There’s another nun joke sent in by a listener to follow the success of last weeks fun extravaganza. If it’s not as good as the nun on a bike gag, don’t blame me. On the other hand I’m happy to take the plaudits if it’s a rib tickler.
This weeks ‘must read’ article is Buccaneering Rabbits and takes it’s inspiration from the seminal children’s classic book, ‘Watership Down’.
The subject that comes under the spotlight is those dark days that we all endure and for some, the dark continues and manifests into illness. If you think this is a gloom and doom podcast well you’ll be massively wide of the mark.
Contained within the mirth, merriment, daft banter and badly timed comedy is a message of enduring hope and how the story of a rabbit provided a guiding light out of prolonged darkness. Hey I’d even go so far as saying it’s this week’s dose of serious info-tainment.
Recorded in front of a live studio audience... called Kev.

Back from the ether, the abyss of damnation that is found in the bad sectors of a hard drive, this week’s podcast saved itself, writing to the good sectors and is there, in its own inimitable glory.
Having ‘bigged’ it up so much what can you expect to find in this week’s audio extravaganza of 46 minutes and some seconds?
First, Geoff Thompson gets grilled and given the opportunity to explain the rhyme and reason behind this week’s ‘must read’ article –The Universe Whispers.
There’s a chance to get to hear the world’s funniest nun on a bike joke. Remember it’s not a sin to laugh only if you take pleasure in it.
There’s talk of freebies, books, pro-dogs (as opposed to amateur ones) and Gus gets revisited.

Title: There is no such thing as a locked script (is nearly mentioned)
Date added: 17/05/2008
Running time: 40:10m
Content:
Completely away from the normal way of doing things Geoff and Richard had a planning meeting to talk about the content of this week’s podcast. A meticulous skeleton brief was agreed as time was short and a podcast hadn’t been done for a few weeks. It needed to be right.
The subjects to talk about, the point's in this week’s must read article to contemplate, and other matters to cover were formulated. All was agreed and noted. A script, well sort of, was scribbled down on dog eared A4 pads. More preparation went into this podcast than its predecessors. Honest.
Recording followed and as is the way of things, the script went out of the window. This week’s ‘must read’ article was mentioned... in passing. What followed is an hilarious dose of silliness, an introduction to the work of Alan Peasland, one of the country’s most experienced martial artist and real self defence expert plus the spot light wanders and full’s on other subjects.
Mix that with a chat about Geoff’s new book, A Beginners Guide to Darkness, a no nonsense straight talking guide, like none that have gone before. Within the podcast there’s help, advice and a challenge for you, all in this mixed up cocktail of serious Info-Tainment.

‘All Sailors’ is this week’s ‘must read’ article that comes under the spotlight for analysis and discussion, with Richard Barnes asking Geoff Thompson why he wrote it, what it has tell and what can be learnt.
The inspiration for the article comes from headlines in the press seeming to suggest to Geoff that the world is drowning in an ocean of pain. If this is the case is there any hope for any of us?
This podcast is a rollercoaster ride from a sublime look at the harsh reality and search for the light of hope amid the darkness that seems to surround, too the usual, unusual mix of daft silliness that can only be heard on a podcast from GeoffThompson.com. Serious info-tainment. Enjoy.

This week’s ‘must read’ article is called Difficult Difficult, Difficult Easy.
My spell checker is warning me of repeated words and warning aside it describes something you can look for and do if you want doors to open on your life, and real benefits to appear right in front of you, no matter what it is you strive for. A better job, a better life, to be understood, to understand, to appreciate or be appreciated it’s a simple map that Richard Barnes quizzes Geoff Thompson about in this week’s (late) podcast.
Add to that the usual unusual mix of punch lines without jokes, name checks and mentions of anyone we can think of and a serious dose of silliness exacerbated by the early hour of recording, oh the voices sound gruff, and you have a great mix of serious info-tainment to feast your ear holes on. Enjoy!

Title: Metaphysical self defence (MSD).
Date added: 15/03/2008
Running time: 26:36m
Content:
There are two themes’ that run through this week’s podcast.
Firstly, Geoff Thompson tells Richard Barnes about “Metaphysical self defence.” It’s the title and subject of the weeks ‘Must Read’ article.
So what is it, does it work, how do you use it and what are the benefits to you? It gives an insight into how and why Geoff turned his life around, the life changing moment that nearly cost him all he holds dear and his liberty for years to come. It serious stuff and the information within could give you a road map for realising what you want.
The other theme, as usual is not as serious as the not so dynamic duo analyse a deeply disturbing (to them) email from karate legend Iain Abernethy. Bear witness to some extreme silliness, near funny moments and talk of whippets.
Either way it’s this week’s dose of serious’ info-tainment’ not to be missed!

Title: God is a house
Date added: 07/03/2008
Running time: 34:39m
Content:
In a recent article and podcast Geoff Thompson said ‘Jesus is a factory labourer’ and now he re-assures us ‘God is a house’. And to illustrate this he sites two ants having a conversation over a grain of sugar. How can God be a house?
You would be forgiven for discounting such proclamations as slightly daft and ill thought out. Then you hopefully figure out that these titles are just a metaphor for something that prompts consideration and understanding of the potential in all of us. You’d be right in your figuring.
